“Special” Meeting Minutes
R. Ballard called the meeting to order, with the explanation that this special meeting was called to get vote on buying additional pier sections and discuss budget issues. The “south” end of Bass Lake requires the purchase of 5 additional aluminum piers. A quote from Larry’s Marine was presented: 5 4x 10 sections of pier, 5 four foot Ultra cross bars, 10 steel pipes, 10 mud plates, plus a %15 discount equaled $4, 846.51. Johnson and Sons also presented a quote: 1. **Aluminum Pier Sections**: I need 5 additional aluminum pier sections. Since the total will exceed 196 sections, the cost will be $25 per section, resulting in an additional charge of $125 2. **2 Feet Crossbars**: I also need 5 crossbars, which I can create from 3-foot crossbars at a cost of $15 per bar. This totals $75. Totaling $200. T. Busch made a motion to accept the quote and make the purchase of the aluminum pier sections and other equipment from Larry’s Marine, totaling $4,846.51 and to pay Johnson and Sons $200 for the installation of the additional pier sections and custom-made crossbars; D. Sinn seconded the motion; passed 4-0.
A. Flora brought up some budgetary concerns. She pointed out that the transfer of money from the “Cash/Carry Forward” section of the budget has not been moved to the “Repair and Maintenance” section of the budget. It is being treated as an “additional appropriation” rather than a simple transfer, so the money that the county council approve be moved on March 17, 2025 will be moved mid-May. A. Flora suggested that the money we use to pay for the additional piers and labor be paid for out of “Equipment”. This will mean we have just under $8000 in that section of our budget. The board discussed some options for making the most out of our budget and how we will proceed going forward this 2025 season.
R. Ballard moved to adjourn the meeting; all in were in favor.
